Normally I'm a Caffeine Free Diet Coke sort of guy. I live by it. But over the past few weeks, I've been mixing it up a lot. In addition to the Caffeine Free Diet Coke, I've been having Diet Mug Root Beer, Diet Sprite, and Diet Mountain Dew. All of those drinks taste sort-of-tolerable, which is about the best I can hope for from something that has zero calories. So far, I definitely like the change. Miniscule variety is the spice of life.
I can't really say for sure why. Maybe I have just become bored with Diet Coke. But, I think that it's more related to the fact that in the past I added variety with a couple non-diet soft drinks each week, but now that I haven't had non-diet pop in more than four months, I need to get that variety from somewhere else.

Lately I am into Black Cherry Citrus Fresca. I usually go between Coke Zero, Diet Coke, and Diet Dr. Pepper. But I throw the Fresca in there when I want to mix things up.
As a former hater of diet soda, I now find Diet Dr. Pepper to be quite tolerable. Do you have a beef with it?
I don't like the flavor of Diet Dr. Pepper. And, since it tastes more like regular Dr. Pepper, Diet Dr. Pepper is not very enticing.
A truly disgusting topic! I'll take sugar over fake sugar any day! :P
Well, yeah, all things being equal, I'm sure just about anyone would. Sadly, all things are not equal, and sugar has a lot of calories. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't touch diet pop...
Have you read anything about how the sugar substitutes are just as bad if not worse than actual sugar? Just do a quick google search for it and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Of course. There's tons of wildly conflicting evidence on the subject.
That's why I don't touch any of that diet stuff...and why I am trying really hard to even cut out the high fructose corn syrup. There's something just more natural about sugar.
