Theft and how it opens up legal questions

So, when four of my CDs were stolen from me, was my legal license to play MP3s ripped from them stolen as well? That's sort of a confusing area for me. The discs were the physical manifestation and proof of that license. Now I have nothing to show for them other than a DeepDiscount.com receipt email if I ever, Heaven forbid, had to prove that I really do buy an asston of CDs and DVDs. Clearly if I voluntarily gave up my license by giving away or selling the CD I would be obligated to delete my digital copies. Am I obligated to do so even if it's involuntary?
