One thing that sucks about having an office next to a conference room is that when you're out of the office, people come by and steal your markers and erasers.
Or you could lock your office. I'm pretty sure my mentor was the only person I knew last summer who locked his office, but hey, people would think you had something to hide!
It's more the not-returning thing than anything else. The markers are only on the first floor (cost-saving, wtf), so I gladly lend markers and erasers to people when I'm in my office. It's just annoying that they're never returned.

You should leave nothing but drained markers and heavily soiled erasers sitting around for thieves to grab.

You'd think it would be easier for them to get them from the supply cabinets, but no... alas, no.

Also, my office doesn't have a lock.
RAPE SCENARIO!!!
I am dismayed at my timing. :(
