The current contents of my whiteboard are as follows. (Warning: code joke.)

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM:

Variable is true not due to Fate or the design of any particular Divine Hand, but merely the chaotic entropy of the universe.

FIX:

Initialize variable to false in the constructor.
