Spam 1, Travis 1

I have Outlook set to clear out my Deleted Items every 14-17 days. I got so much mail over the past couple weeks that Outlook reached the maximum allowed size for an Outlook 2002-formatted file. Almost every operation I tried, including permanently deleting mail from my Deleted Items folder, resulted in the error "the folder is too large." The only thing that worked was copying messages to a different file, so I had to create a new Outlook 2003-2007 mail data file and copy everything over.

I guess it's a good thing they fixed their file format in the previous version. Otherwise the spammers would have won.

That’s one stellar piece of coding there: "Oh sorry, your file is too large for me to delete". File size should have a lot to do with the delete operation.

Well, it's a mail message inside the single Outlook database file. But yeah. Sigh. It's not even like the file is 2 GB or anything; it was just like 170 MB or something like that.

Haha, I read this entry, and saw that there were two comments. Before clicking the link to view the comments, I guessed that one of these comments would be from ianonymous, and the other would be a rebuttal from Travis.

I was right <3

perhaps Spomey and I should take our show on the road. It'd be a sort of a Garrison Keillor meets Lewis Black experience.

I'd buy tickets to that.

Also, my comment wasn't really a rebuttal, per se... certainly not a defense.

I am aware of the irony.

You two *really* need to meet in person some time... :-P

Wha? We've certainly met. We were both even at a party once... probably one of the DS dealies.

Oh. Hmm...I vaguely remember Ian once saying during an evening of drunkenness that he hadn't ever met you; I guess he made more of an impression on you than you did on him. ;-)

Nope, we've met a couple of times. It was at the DS party at Alan's place. I'm pretty sure we even talked about working at MS for a few minutes.

Evidently Swid had a few more Grey Goose shots that night than I did ;)
