Eyewear conspiracy

Hmmm. Eye doctors (optometrists... optha... whatever the difference is) must make more money prescribing disposable contact lenses over glasses, because I'm sure a lot of people just always buy their contacts from their doctor instead of a third party. There's a financial advantage to prescribing contacts over glasses when both would work equally well. That must be why doctors always seemed to ask if I had ever tried contact lenses back when I wore glasses.

...or maybe they think you'd look like less of a dork if you didn't wear glasses, and you didn't know the opportunity was available. I'm just saying... :)

Yeah, I'm sure that people go into the eye doctor all the time and are like, "...lenses ON my eyes? What the hell?"

I wore contacts in seventh grade, and I couldn't stand them; I went back to glasses after about two months. I started up again a little over a year ago and still greatly dislike them, but I like the way they look, and I no longer find it comfortable to wear glasses. So, now I'm kind of stuck with them.

Opthalmologist is eye doctor. Optometrist makes stuff, I think (I'm not going to check).
